Straight answers.
Why must the borrower be a company?
These loans are designed for business and investment use. Lending to a company for business purposes means the loan falls outside the National Credit Code, which allows the speed and flexibility private funding offers.
Are these loans regulated?
They are not regulated by the National Credit Code, so consumer credit protections such as responsible lending obligations and hardship provisions do not apply. We recommend directors obtain independent legal and financial advice before signing.
Can I use one to buy or refinance my own home?
No. For personal or home-buying needs, see our Home Loans — we compare 40+ lenders for you.
Will directors need to give a personal guarantee?
Usually, yes. A guarantee means directors may be personally liable if the company cannot repay.
What fees apply?
All fees are set out in your indicative loan terms before you proceed.
